There are plenty of must-try desserts in Malacca that will most definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. With a cultural background of Malay, Chinese, Peranakan (Straits Chinese), Portuguese, Dutch and British influences, Malacca is home to a plethora of unique dishes that are simply irresistible. One of the best places in Malacca to enjoy these delicacies is the ever-popular Jonker Street, which houses rows of quaint cafes, bustling bars, hawker stalls and local restaurants. Made with fresh ingredients, such as fresh coconut, palm sugar (gula Melaka), and local fruits, most of these well-loved snacks are served ice-cold which make for refreshing treats on a scorching afternoon in Malacca.
